This is a blended-learning program consisting of a 2-hour self-paced online package (completed at home immediately after registration) followed by a 4-hour in-person skills session structured as follows:

Course Information & Overview

The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training with First Aid/CPR/AED course prepares youth ages 11–16 to care for children and infants safely and confidently. It includes hands-on activities, videos, and discussions to develop essential real-life readiness babysitting skills. The course covers feeding, diapering, picking up and holding children, behavioral management, and emergency response.

Requirements for Completion & Entry

Pre-Requisites: None. Suitable for beginners.
Physical Requirements: CPR can be physically demanding. Participants should ideally weigh at least 85–90 pounds to effectively participate in the chest compression portion of the course.
Passing Criteria: Completion of Online Modules, 100% attendance, and successful hands-on skills demonstration.

About Your Official Red Cross Digital Certification

Once training has been successfully completed, your official course certificates will be sent via email from the American Red Cross. Each certificate includes a unique ID and a QR code which meets employment requirements, allowing employers or parents to easily confirm your certificate is valid.

Babysitter’s Training Certificate: Valid for 10 years.
OSHA Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certificate: Valid for 2 years.

Attendance & Refund Policy

Palm Over Palm First Aid & CPR has a strict no-refund policy as resources and instructors are scheduled in advance. If you contact us more than 48 hours in advance, we would be happy to reschedule you to another convenient day or hold a course credit for you.
