FAQ

I've changed my mind. Can I get a refund?
Palm Over Palm First Aid & CPR Corp. has a strict no refund policy as a lot of effort goes into planning our courses and scheduling our instructors. However, if you contact us more than 2 calendar days in advance of your training we would be more than happy to reschedule you to another convenient day. Should any participants fail to attend on the date of training, Palm Over Palm First Aid & CPR Corp. is willing to hold an indefinite credit. However, no refunds will be issued for unused seats before or after the scheduled training date.

When will my official certificate arrive after the course?
After completing 100% of your course requirements, you can expect to receive a certification via email from the American Red Cross. You can expect to receive your certification within 1-3 business days of completing your course.

I've completed my training, where can I find my certificate?
Your certificate will be emailed to you from the American Red Cross within 1-3 business days of completing the full course curriculum. Note that if you are taking a Blended Learning course, you must have also completed the accompanying online modules to receive your certificate.
If you cannot find the emailed certificate, please check your junk/spam folder. Alternatively, you can send us an email with your name, order number, date and location that you took the course and we will look into re-sending a soft copy of your certificate within 3-5 business days.

I'm running late for my class - can I still attend?
You must attend your full course as scheduled in order to meet the program requirement to receive your certificate. Palm Over Palm First Aid & CPR Corp. allows a 10 minute grace period for latecomers, however, please note that studio doors will be closed after this time limit. If you arrive after the grace period, you will be required to call the office to reschedule your class to a new date. Our standard rescheduling fees apply.

What is your rescheduling policy?
If you wish to reschedule a class, we require an email notification to info@palmoverpalm.com with at least 3 days' notice from your training date. There is no additional cost to reschedule as long as we have enough notice. For cancellations within 2 calendar days of your training, a rescheduling fee of 50% of your course fee applies. If you cancel the day of or miss your training, your seat will be forfeited and you must re-book your course to attend on a new date.

I don't have my previous certificate. Can I still take the review course?
We require at least a copy of the certificate to process a renewal. If you do not have a copy of the certificate from your previous first aid training, you will have to get a replacement. If you took the first aid training with us but can't find your ticket, you can give our office a call to get the details, or arrange a replacement card.

What happens if I miss my class?
If a registered participant fails to show up on the day of training, no refund or rescheduling options will be offered, as the instructors are paid in advance and many of our classes are filled to capacity. When a student fails to attend, they have taken a seat away from someone else who could have attended the class.

I canceled my class without enough notice and paid a 50% rescheduling fee to select a new date. Do I need to pay to reschedule again if my schedule changes and I cannot attend the new session?
Every time you wish to change your course session details, our standard rescheduling and cancellation policies apply. Please note that each time a class is modified without ample notice will result in an additional rescheduling fee for the participant. Previous payments to reschedule last minute do not cover future date/time changes. While we respect that everyone’s schedule can get hectic from time to time, each time a participant cancels or changes their course without enough notice, Palm Over Palm First Aid & CPR Corp. still has to cover the fees for that student as if they were in attendance. In each situation where courtesy is not taken to give us ample notice to avoid these fees, the participant is responsible for covering this cost. Our instructors are paid in advance and many of our classes are filled to capacity. When a student fails to attend, they have also taken a seat away from someone else who could have attended the class.

Can I walk into a class without making a booking?
No. All of our classes must be booked ahead of time either online or over the phone, and paid for in advance. Many of our classes are filled to capacity and there is a limit to how many students can be certified at one time.

Can I bring someone else with me to class? (e.g. a family member, friend, child, care aid, translator, interpreter etc).
Yes, as long as the individual meets the minimum age required and has paid for a seat in the class, anyone is welcome to join you to training.

Can I pay with cash or cheque?
Unfortunately not. Our training studios and our instructors do not have the resources to accept cash payments.

Not sure what course to take?
Please note that Palm Over Palm First Aid & CPR Corp. will not be held responsible if a participant registers for the wrong course. We can happily advise based on your needs, however it is ultimately the responsibility of the participant to confirm their course requirements with their school, employer or governing body.

I’ve registered for the wrong course, can I switch into another class?
Palm Over Palm First Aid & CPR Corp. has a strict no refund policy as a lot of effort goes into planning our courses and scheduling our classes. However, if you contact us in advance of your training we would be more than happy to reschedule you into the correct course and charge an upgrade fee if there is a difference in pricing. If you have already completed the course and had a certification issued via email you will need to rebook the correct course at full price.

How do I sign up multiple people at a time?
If signing up a participant other than yourself, please be sure to include the full name, email address, and contact phone number of the additional participants in the order notes, along with ensuring the number of seats in Your Cart is matching the number of persons attending. Please ensure information regarding additional participants is spelled correctly, as this information will be used to process and issue their certification, along with their online course access if taking a blended learning course.

Do I need to bring anything to class with me?
Just yourself! We provide all course related materials, and if you wish you may bring something along with you to drink. If you are taking a review course, please bring along a copy of your current valid certificate. If you are participating in a blended in-class session, please bring along your American Red Cross proof of online completion. If you have submitted your prior certification or blended online completion proof too our email info@palmoverpalm.com and already had it approved, you do not need to bring that along with you to class.

What should I wear to class?
We recommend wearing comfy clothes and dressing in layers. In-class sessions are typically very hands-on and you will be moving around quite a bit. Our facilities are air conditioned, so you may want to bring along a light sweater. Please wear comfortable footwear, as boots, flip flops, heels, or open toed sandals may make participation a little less comfortable.

My child would like to obtain an American Red Cross certification, what is the minimum age requirement?
At Palm Over Palm First Aid & CPR Corp. we accept participants aged 14 and older to participate and attend the course alone. Each participant must have their own personal email address. Individuals below the age of 14 may still attend the class, however they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who has also paid for a seat in the course session. Young children may not participate.

Does my course registration fee include a hard copy American Red Cross First Aid manual or CPR pocket mask?
Your course registration cost covers all required materials to complete your certification. However, we offer a variety of official American Red Cross First Aid & CPR tools and materials that are available for purchase. The best part? You can pick them up right from your instructor on the day of your in-class session! https://palmoverpalm.com/pages/products

What is the difference between ALS vs. BLS?
Basic Life Support (BLS) is the foundation of resuscitation training for healthcare professionals including nurses, physicians, EMS professionals, and other healthcare and public safety personnel. The Advanced Life Support (ALS) program builds on the skills learned in BLS, training healthcare providers to care for adult patients who are experiencing life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, acute coronary syndrome, or stroke.

Can I register for Advanced Life Support (ALS) if I am currently registered for a Basic Life Support (BLS) course but have not yet completed it?
You may absolutely register for your ALS course with Palm Over Palm First Aid & CPR Corp. under the condition that your Basic Life Support prerequisite will be 100% completed and issued upon attending your in-person skills session for Advanced Life Support. Basic Life Support courses scheduled after the Advanced Life Support class will not be accepted. If you still need to register for and complete your Basic Life Support prerequisite, you can do so here:
