Basic Life Support + Advanced Life Support + Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Course Length:
8 hours online & 8 hours in-class
Participants have the flexibility to complete all 3 online courses in advance and to schedule the sessions over the course of separate training dates of their choosing.
Course Description:
The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult child and infant patients.
The Advanced Life Support (ALS, sometimes referred as ACLS) class from the American Red Cross has been designed specifically for healthcare providers and first responders – and offers ways to help streamline your training, improve your skill retention and help you better serve your patients. Throughout the Red Cross ALS course, you'll learn advanced life support assessment, as well as how to best manage respiratory emergencies, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocols for acute arrhythmias, cardiac arrest (including post-cardiac arrest care), acute coronary syndromes and acute stroke within or outside of a medical facility setting.
The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) class from the American Red Cross is the scientifically equivalent and educationally superior choice. Not only does it include the latest science-based curriculum, but with options that allow you to streamline your training and improve skill retention, it can help you better serve your smallest patients. Throughout your PALS course, you'll learn to assess, recognize and provide high-quality care to pediatric patients experiencing life-threatening medical emergencies, including shock, cardiac and respiratory events, as well as how to provide care after the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) during a resuscitation effort. In addition, our course will challenge your critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and help improve your teamwork skills to provide better patient care.
Upon successful completion of the courses learners will receive both a 2-year Basic Life Support and a 2-year Pediatric Advanced Life Support digital certificate with anytime anywhere access to certificate and training history. The American Red Cross is an accredited provider of continuing education by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education.
